Brand Identity
Create a brand identity for a local bookshop and teahouse.
Kettle & Rose is a bookshop and teahouse in downtown Gainesville, Florida. The best friend duo started Kettle & Rose, Kylie and Rose, who both worked as baristas for several years before opening their quiet bookshop down the road.
The concept for Kettle & Rose came from my two friends, Kylie Smith and Rose Moran. We worked together at a coffee shop in downtown Savannah, Georgia. We all loved working with each other during the busy weekends downtown, and while it did tend to be chaotic at times, it was still enjoyable. I knew a few things about Kylie and Rose: both loved their coffee and tea, and Kylie was one of the biggest bookworms I knew who had also traveled the world. I’m creating Kettle & Rose Bookshop & Teahouse to remind us of our good times together in Savannah while pairing their interests and hobbies with something new in Gainesville. Every month, Kettle & Rose hosts events for both adults and children, including murder mystery nights where adults can try to find out who the murderer is among them, and for children, sensory-friendly storytimes that happen one weekend each month.
I’ve always strived to give back, whether giving someone an entertaining story to tell their friends, giving back to the community, bringing people closer together, or simply doing my part to give back to generations that will come after me. With Kettle & Rose, guests are welcome to come and enjoy a nice cup of tea at the bar or curl up in a corner and read for hours. A portion of each purchase from the tea bar will go towards the non-profit organization Water for People and Water.org. A portion of every book purchase goes towards non-profit organizations such as First Book and the World Literacy Foundation.
A cozy place to curl up with a book
